Camilla & Gatien’s Prudential RideLondon-100 2019

Dear Friends and Family,

We will be completing (or attempting to!) the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 on Sunday 4th August 2019. For those of you that don’t know what this entails, it’s 100 miles (160km!) cycling through arguably, the best capital city in the world, and the one we call home, London.

100 miles in under 6.5 hours is our target (that is as far from a casual stroll along regents canal as one could imagine!) In addition to the edgy streets of east London and the leafy avenues of Richmond, we’ll also have to battle the Surrey Hills (which include the infamous box hill) – let’s hope we make it, because we aren’t only doing it because it’s the challenge of a lifetime, but mainly in the name of mobility.

As many of you know, Camilla worked at Walkabout Foundation and was witness, first hand, to the importance of their work and just how much difference a wheelchair can make in someone’s life. Take Selina for example. Born with cerebral palsy, Selina has never been able to walk, therefore relying on her older siblings to carry her to school. As she grew, she became too heavy for her sisters to bear her weight on the three hour walk, so they would often leave her on the side of the road and only pick her up on their way back home. Now, thanks to her first ever wheelchair, Selina will be able to return to school and play with her siblings. For Selina, her wheelchair means the opportunity to have a childhood – something that every little girl deserves.

It is for all young girls like Selina that we are setting off for this challenge this year, to not only raise money, but also awareness of this fantastic charity, where every penny that give goes directly to Walkabout’s programmes due to their 100% promise. So loosen up your purse strings, and please donate to our cause today.

If you do, we’ll send you a sweaty selfie with our medals at the end, and we’ll be forever grateful. At the end of our campaign we’ll be able to share updates with you on the exact beneficiaries whose lives you’ll have single-handledly helped us change, and their happy faces!

We also hope to seeing as many of you as possible cheering us on the day. For those not able to make it, you can follow our progress and results on our Strava pages: Camilla & Gatien

Thank you so much in advance for your support!

Sesame Access Run for Wheelchairs

For every 10 people that donate £1 a mile for the 26.2 mile New York Marathon this great charity can gift a life changing wheelchair to someone around the world, how amazing is that!

Alison and I are running the NYC marathon together and I’m going to attempt to run it wearing a wheelchair strapped to my shoulders to raise as much awareness for this cause as I can with the primary goal to get all you lovely people to donate as much money as you can.

Any money you can give will make every blister worth while.

Antoinette’s Berlin Marathon 2019

Dear Friends and Family,

For 2019, I have set myself the challenge of not only running the world famous Berlin Marathon, but also fundraising £1,000 /$1,380 for Walkabout Foundation and I am asking for your support!

£1,000 / $1,380 is the equivalent of 4 life-changing wheelchairs for people in desperate need in the developing world. Please help me reach my target this year, and help Walkabout Foundation in it’s mission to change the world of mobility disabilities, one person, one wheelchair at a time.

In Addition, I will be celebrating another Birthday on September 29th, 2019, the day of the Berlin Marathon. I am excited to run on my birthday for those who can’t walk but with a wheelchair will have access to mobility.

Making a donation is easy! You can click on the Donate button on this page to give through my secure fundraising site. Your giving will help change the life of a disabled person giving them the freedom to move around and some sense of independence.

Thank you for all of your support!

Walkabout Foundation is a UK and USA based charity with the mission to restoring dignity, freedom, and independence by providing wheelchairs and rehabilitation in the developing world and funding research to find a cure for paralysis. Walkabout Foundation was founded in 2009 by siblings Luis and Carolina Gonzalez-Bunster after Luis was spinal cord injured in a car accident at the age of just 18.

Matty and I believe in getting the children involved in charity at a young age. Grayson supports Crisis (a charity helping to eradicate homeless in the UK), while Weston has started her focus on the Walkabout Foundation (helping those who are paralyzed).

Westie is taking her cute little legs for a 5K walk around Hyde Park this weekend to raise money for the Walkabout Foundation. 100% of the proceeds will buy wheelchairs for people in need and help fund research for paralysis. She would appreciate if you could sponsor her – even the smallest of donations makes a big difference!

In addition to the walk, she’s co-hosting the Cake Walk activity stand with me, encouraging her friends to participate and raise additional funds!

Thank you so much for supporting Westie!! Lots of love, P and Matty xx

PS – You can add to the funding page even after the event!
