In spite of its growing economy, Pakistan’s development has been hindered by conflict and corruption, and there are still millions living in extreme poverty.
People with disabilities are often overlooked, neglected and excluded – which, as well as being a moral and social issue, is estimated could be costing the economy $20bn a year. Making these people more visible and enabling them to access education and employment is beneficial for everyone – and the first step towards that is a wheelchair.
